How does it work?
When you sign up, you get C$10,000 in Chart Bucks — ChartWars' virtual currency. You use Chart Bucks to buy and sell shares in songs and artists on the song exchange and the artist exchange. You can also participate in IPOs when new songs debut on the Billboard Hot 100.
Prices are calculated every 15 minutes from real-world data:
- Billboard chart position — the biggest single signal
- Spotify follower count — measures fan loyalty
- YouTube views — viral reach
- TikTok video count — trending velocity
- Reddit mentions — community buzz
- Google Trends interest — broader cultural relevance
What can you actually do?
Buy long — bet that a song's price will rise. Classic stock trading.
Sell short — bet that a song will drop. Useful when a song is fading off the chart.
IPO trading — get in early on songs that just hit the Billboard Hot 100. During the 24-hour IPO window, prices respond directly to user buy/sell pressure.
Limit orders — set automatic buy/sell triggers at target prices.
